Finals Bound

The San Antonio Spurs are heading back to the NLL finals. For the 2nd time in GM Leeroy's reign the team will face the Dunadan led Knicks in the big one.

It has been a taxing playoffs for the Spurs, first almost collapsing against a determined 8 seed Houston, Coming back from the dead to beat the Timberwolves and then taking out the West's 2nd best team the Kings in 5 games.

The playoffs have really been a story of just trying to get through, after learning that Joel Embiid would be healthy to play following his surgery in March in the Conference Finals the team had to make do with what they had. Alan Williams was a great fill in through the first 2 rounds with his tenacity on the boards a big factor.

Once Embiid was back the team felt a little more comfortable that they could at least play as they had in the regular season and it turns out it worked. Now the big task of facing a stacked Knicks roster without Home Court Advantage. The Knicks have faced a gauntleyt of eastern powerhouses to get to the big one so it will be tough no doubt.

Anthony Davis continues to add to his resume throughout these playoffs, leading the team with 31 points and 12 rebounds per game. This week he also added the NLL Defensive Player of the year award to his trophy cabinet winning just ahead of Houston's Hassan Whiteside.

The season could be considered a success no matter the result of the Finals however bringing a 2nd Championship trophy to San Antonio would the the icing on the cake.
