Still Not Over It

The offseason has been a slow one for the Portland Trailblazers. Their future is heading in the right direction but without the likely chance of immediate talent entering their squad from the draft, the rebuild could be a long a tedious one.

Portland has two first round draft picks this year, but their position has not even been determined yet, as both the teams are still in the playoffs. Knowing their luck it will be end up being the last two picks in the round, even though both teams are from the west.

When the Blazers General manager was asked about the upcoming lottery he seemed to channel his inner Greg Popovich for his response. “I wont be watching the lottery, no. Its obvious I'm still dirty with the fact that we don't have our own pick. It would just be rubbing salt in a wound if I were to watch what could have been.”

He continued his rant with an interesting analogy. “Me watching where our pick would go is like me going to my school dance and watching some bozo dancing with my ex girlfriend, who just broke up with me. Its not going to be be good for my sanity or my dignity. So instead ill stay home, study and figure out a way to be better than them all…”

“Sorry, I seemed to have gotten a tad sidetracked, but ya’ll get the point. We as a franchise are figuring out ways to move our position up the draft and continue to look to the future. we have great pieces on offer and plenty of late picks to condense. we are hustlers, we will be fine.”

Somewhat intense but optimistic words from the Blazers Manager. Lets hope his offseason plans come to fruition,  because it seems like he could be close to the edge.
