Memphis Wrap Up
As the trade deadline has passed and the
playoff picture starts to take shape, as does the lottery picture. The
grizzlies at the moment have the 3rd worst record in the
association, despite winning 3 games in a row in week 16. They rattled off
their second 3 game win streak this season, crazy when you consider they have
only one 20 games in total.
The Grizz sit 4 games clear of the clippers
and 8 games clear of the blazers in the west, while being only one game behind
the pistons. All these positions will be of great interest as the season winds
down as the placings will determine how many balls each franchise will have in
the lottery. Obviously wins are great and the 3 in a row is brilliant for the
players and everyone involved, but die hard Grizz fans will be hoping there
aren’t too many more of these. More wins equals less balls in the lottery and
less chances at the converted first pick!
In other Grizzlies news, Festus Ezili was
signed out of the FA pool. He has another year to go on his contract and
management believed he will offer some value next season either on the court or
in trade value. He now joins Chris Bosh on the long term injury list! Marquese
Chriss won West Rookie of the month for February. A great honour that he takes
very seriously and thanks everyone for the votes. He continues to dominate for
the young side and his NBA form his also on the rise. Which surely means a
ratings rise. Which still somehow, sits at 71!!!
Papagiannis played 12 minutes in the NBA
this week, which is another great sign for his development. Grizz fans cannot
wait to see him back in the paint dominating!!
