1 on 1 With Marquese Chriss

Today, Grizzlies news caught up with young superstar and now 2x West ROTW winner Marquese Chriss

Reporter: Thanks for sitting down with us Marquesse, how have you found NLL life in your Rookie year.

Marquese: I love it. It’s all I’ve dreamt of and more. The Grizzlies are a great organisation. We are clearly in a rebuilding phase at the moment, but the fans are being very patient with us. The young guys are keen and eager to learn, and we have shown glimpses of what we can produce. That, coupled with the experience of our vets such as Corey Brewer, CJ Watson and Darrell Arthur is amazing, they are always teaching and challenging the boys.

Reporter: Speaking of teaching, who are your go to guys around the ball club?

Marquesse: My first port of call is Coach Fizdale. He is great. A student of the game, he always has something constructive to offer and isn’t afraid to tell it how it is. I also have Chris (Bosh) number on speed dial. He is a great teacher and is and a future Hall of Famer, any advice I can get from him on playing the PF position I soak up. It’s so valuable having someone at my disposal to learn how to dominate the 4 spot in this league.

Reporter: What are your initial thoughts on the NLL and how you and the Grizz are perceived?

Marquesse: I read an article naming the top 30 players under 25. I wasn’t on it. That stuff just powers me on. I’m in the top 30. I know I am. I don’t need anyone else to tell me that. Ill just show it! The Grizz took me at pick 4 and I will be forever thankful for that and I’m going to show them why they made a great pick. I’m taking this franchise to the top. Its gonna be a bumpy ride at times but I cant wait. Get on board fans, its going to be epic!
