RAMBO LIVES ON...

Its not breaking news that Portland are not off to a great start, besides having a Rookie of the Week on their roster there has not been much Portland news in the Nations press.

Portland GM stated “We here at Portland know we are in a phase of rebuilding and the tabloids have not been giving us much positive attention. Although that does not phase us, as we have adopted the UnderDog mentality, I do think its unfair that certain players get looked over because of the teams record. Luis Scola being the main one, Luis has been a rock for us in the locker room and on the court, and his stats prove with the latter.”

Scola has began the year with averages of 17 points per game, 8 rebounds per game in only 24 minutes and is second in the league at free throw attempts. He has had some big games of late, with his minutes rising and would easily be in contentions for player of the game if only his team could muster up the ‘W’. If Scola’s minutes stay high and his production continues, which there is no reason why it shouldn't, his name should be floating around the 6th man of the year discussions, but as Portland is a team that has been disregarded by the previous GM and consequently overlooked by the league I cant see him getting a fair look in that department.

There have been rumours that Scola’s name has been brought up in trade talks and Portlands GM did not shy away from the discussion. “We are openly shopping Luis, he knows this and we both agree that this is best for both our futures. He fully understand the current youth movement and we understand that a player of his caliber could be the difference come finals time for a contending team. All I hope is that he can land at a team that values his contributions as much as we do.”

It couldn't be spelled out any clearer that Scola is on the block and his talents shouldn't go unnoticed for much longer.

Portlands GM finished our interview with a powerful statement towards other GM’s. “ I’m surprised my phone has not been blowing up with offers for Luis from other GM’S, either they are all tanking or their phone lines must be down.”
