KD, Lopez, Lowry, Tyreke, Favors, and Swaggy are what makes the Celtics so good. Lopez & Lowry gave me a ton of trouble in MyCareer last year. So I know from first hand these two guys are overpowered players in the 2k17 engine. Lopez protects the paint like a beast, even though he could care less about defense in real life. And Lowry is an elite perimeter defender who is more likely than not to beat you off the dribble. Tyreke Evans received a major boost in three point shooting this year, but he's only hitting 1 or 2 threes a game. I think this recent tendency update will improve that. But the king here is Kevin Durant who is putting 30+ points a game. The Celtics have won every game in the past three weeks while KD was healthy. Iguodala wasn't able to win games during his absence. So Jmac went out and traded Iggy for additional small forwards - Aminu & Zipser (and even got a 2019 1st rounder throw in). It is still unknown if the recent tendency update will reduce Brook Lopez down in defense to real life levels, but jmac doesn't have to worry because he has one of the best defensive bigs sitting on his bench - Derrick Favors. So Jmac has nothing to worry about other than finding a gm dumb enough to give up a 2nd round pick for Dorian Finney-Smith.

Curry, Klay, and Grandpa Dirk are what makes the Bulls so good. Curry is unbelievable this year. Just when you thought he had hit his peak last year, he decides to show us some more. This reminds me of Harrison Barnes last year in terms of overcoming people's expectations. He's hitting 6+ three pointers a game for 30+ points. Klay, next man up, is hitting about 3+ threes a game for 25+ points a game. Both Curry & Klay are underrated defenders and could be the best defensive backcourt in the league. And offensively they are better than Harden & Kyrie. So yeah, they are best backcourt offensively and defensively. Good news about Curry is that there was no structural damage to his injury. He will only be out for a couple of weeks. Isaiah Taylor will get a bump in minutes while Klay is the main benefactor in usage. Daz still wants another big for when Noah or Demon misses time. Unfortunately, the bid for Omer Asik was unsuccesful.

Badwolf has made a career of drafting players and trading the ones who don't become stars for picks. His starting lineup is loaded with stars - Westbrook, Towns, and Giannis. His bench is loaded with prospects - Jarrett, Labissiere, Prince, and Poetl. And he has a ton of draft picks for trade. Because of this flawless method, Milwaukee will always be good. I call it "Old Money." All three stars on his team are MVP candidates. Two of them are $10,600+ on DraftKings any given night. The Bucks lost a couple games when Giannis was out, but injury depth shouldn't be a problem whenever Lavine comes back. This team is just loaded with assets. Any kind of trash Milwaukee might have is gold or silver for most other teams.

Lebron, Drummond, and Ibaka makes this team good. You can designate Lebron as any position, and he will still act as a point guard. He's the best playmaker in the game. I won't go over the fact that he's leading the league in turnovers because there doesn't seem to be a correlation between turnovers and losses under the old slider settings. Ibaka is starting to look older as he is only hitting 1 to 2 three pointers a game. And losing minutes to new edition Mareese Speights. But Ibaka is incredibly important in stretching the floor for the starters as we saw how horrible it looked with Bogut out there. With the recent tendencies update , Covington could see an increase in productio. And the debut of Milosh is just around the corner. Things are getting better in Cleveland.

After a horrible two weeks without Myles Turner, Charlotte came back with a punch by going on an 8 game win streak. Although Myles has been a bit underwhelming player so far this year, maybe the latest tendency update will fix that as I don't think he had very good tendencies with the stock release of NBA2k17. Porzingis is still solid. He's an easy 20 10 type of player. And what's really amazing is he can create his own shot now. Experts didn't expect to see this until his fourth year. The shot creation has come early. I'm not sure if it is in game yet, but hopefully we see it in NLL this year. Just like Milwaukee, Charlotte is also loaded with great prospects and a lot of draft picks - Gary Harris, Blue Arrow, Elfrid Payton, Dejounte Murray, and Thon Maker. Charlotte only have two vets. I couldn't tell you how much of a factor vets play in NLL. Charlotte's influx of quality youth is enough to fill around their only star Porzingis to win games. And with the recent tendency update, Myles Turner could be the next star on the Hornets just like he was on the old engine.

It took Merencio awhile adjusting to the new meta. But once he did, it turned out he had the best trio for the slider settings - LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, and Willie Cauley-Stein. And since then these three were almost a guarantee to put opponents into foul trouble. But even with the slider changes, the Jazz are still in good position to win games. Merencio doesn't have to push opposing bigs into foul trouble to win games. Gasol, LMA, CP3, Wiggins, Cauley-Stein, and Mills are what make this team good. With the right amount of size up front and athleticism in the back, this team is primed for defense. The stats don't show it yet but I believe it was an anomally of the previous meta. Willie Cauley-Stein has a chance to become better than Zubac this year but I think it will take a couple more tendency updates as the NBA is just now catching onto his new offensive abilities. The same could be said for Brandon Paul & Davis Bertans since they are very low key players in the NBA.

Vucevic is what makes the Lakers good. An offensive 7 ft beast who makes up lack of defensive ability with size similar to the way Brook Lopez and Greg Monroe does. Greenmig has a reputation for knowing the ins and outs of the 2k engine. With Vucevic and the right amount of role players, the Lakers are always lethal. Their power ranking is a bit in question though as they had a 3 game losing streak against Boston, New York, and Houston.

Jonas Valanciunas has far exceeded people's expectations this year. And in doing so put a major target on their backs. This team is by no means overrated although the recent losing streak might have people thinking that. The whole starting lineup is good. Valanciunas & Dragic are the scoring. Matthews and Green are the defensive assets and they don't lack in the scoring department either. And young Markenaan can play big or small with his size and ability to stretch the floor. Danny Green is very underrated, but he's actually one of the top SGs for winning a championship just behind Klay and Avery Bradley. There have been rumors that Matthews could be moving West. And if that is so, Orlando could be losing a lot of defense.

Dwight, Kyrie, and Harden make this team good. Zbo took a slight dip this year and doesn't seem to contribute much even in a bench role. Compared to last year though, New York has been underwhelming. I think they are still searching for identity. The team started the year off with Kyrie as PG. Things started to look better after letting Harden play PG. But the starting lineup is still losing games. Maybe we'll see Kyrie return to the PG position or maybe this will be a decision based on matchups.

OKC is generally a bit higher in the power rankings, but seems they've fallen into bit of a slump since the acquisition of Ben's favorite player, Kyle Korver. I believe it is an issue of Korver, Kennard, and Richardson's role in the 2nd unit. Someone has to fall out of the rotation. Rubio could also be blamed as he has been a bit underwhelming.

Toronto traded it's 2017 1st round pick, Mirza Teletovic, and Gorgei Dieng for Bradley Beal this summer. That pick ended up being Jayson Tatum. But I am sure Carl Spacker is incredibly happy with his team right now. Tatum would not have been the star that Toronto needed to happily run a winning team. And the future is looking bright for Toronto with young studs like Kris Dunn & Bogdan Bogdanovic (no relation to Bojan). Kris Dunn has something rare that very few PGs in the game possess - defense. This is very crucial for a championship team. And to have defense at the PG is the hardest thing to find. Look at last years champs. They had both Mike Conley & Patrick Beverley. Having a young defensive PG like Dunn is a piece you can check off in your championship process list. Carl Spackers team was near the bottom of the East last year and after an experience like that, I don't think he'll ever let him team fall that low again.

This is another surprise team. Expectations for Atlanta were very low. Especially with the trading of Justise Winslow and Sam Dekkar for Domantas Sabonis and Doug McDermott. Today, that trade isn't looking so bad. There was also a conditional 2nd round pick in this trade that the league will probably forget about since Spudspace left the league. What makes this team good is the amount of depth this team has and Greg Monroe. Despite claims that he's a defensive liability in real life, he is amazing in the 2k engine. He is putting up 20 10 easily. He has the offensive post scoring skills that could only be learned from post scoring drills everyday for 4 years at college. New school one and done kids don't get this kind of training. He is a rare commodity.

With Whiteside and Tim Hardaway Jr out, Al Jefferson and Dion Waiters continues to keep this team strong. Jefferson was showing old school flashes that Houston rarely gets to showcase. The team just added Ron Baker, but that is irrelevant. We are just waiting for IT, Whiteside, and Tim Hardaway Jr to come back to see how this team will look at full strength. I think some people will also want to see how IT will look with the tendency updates since 2K adjusted his tendencies to fit Lebron's gameplay.

Brooklyn is another team that was dealing with injuries. But now we are at week 6 and everyone relevant is healthy. We will finally get to see how Brooklyn looks at full strength. And even then, I'm sure Wizkid is still trying to understand how his team works at full strength. Deandre, Bledsoe, and DeRozan have been amazing for this team. Middleton hasn't, but we expect him to get better as the season progresses. Brooklyn has great young prospects in LeVert, Hollis-Jefferson, and newly acquired Fox. This is a team that is beginning to figure it out, and has just a few more kinks to work out now that the final pieces are back on court.

Another team that has been dealing with injuries. The Sixers have been in a survival mode trying to get the most out whatever assets that can walk. Dave has done a great job winning games with Ed Davis and Richaun Holmes filling in for injured Kawhi and Gobert. Gobert returns this week and Kawhi's return is just over the horizon. Once at full health, the Sixers will be very dominant with James Johnson, Gobert, Kawhi, Avery Bradley, and Lillard. Bradley is the next best ranked SG for winning championships after Klay. Davis and Embiid are good enough to continue winning games for the Spurs. But being defending champs puts the biggest target on your back. Every team has been figuring out ways to beat the Spurs since preseason, This was the team to beat. This wouldn't be a problem for the Spurs if they had a legitimate point guard right now. Both Conley and Beverley, who were both key defensive pieces, are now struggling to stay on court. Leeroy went to the market for a point guard but only the sharks answered his plea. It seems like Portland is having trouble filling the bench with injuries to Justin Anderson and Delon Wright. Winning games has been a struggle with Juwan Evans and Furkan Korkmaz in the rotation. Portland is a team that has exceeded expectations so far. This is a team people generally wanted to bet against. Their 1st rounder was a highly sought after commodity. Penny would be doing a bit better right now if he still had Chandler, Hardaway, Young, and Clark right now. But in a year, the move for Hayward will be worth it. With a ton of spots to fill, Penny assembled the most random pick up group of players off free agency and looked like a team that was going to be bad this year. And yes, it looked bad. But the Suns got streaky a couple of times and won them some games with Kemba, Gortat, and Hortford. Most nights though there will be 1 or 2 borderline G League players in the lineup messing it up for them.

Sacramento is a very good team with Boban, Okafor, Gasol, Melo, and Collison. Unfortunately they have been accumulating random loses here and there. I think it is because the Kings generally find a way of putting targets on their backs. People know KLEM likes to abuse the system with glitch players and always sits at 3rd or 4th place in the West. KLEM recently gave up Nwaba & Patty Mills for PJ Tucker & Tarik Black. My guess is that he did this move as a result of the emergence of Mike James and the want for more offense off the bench and interest for more bigs. The Kings recently won bid on Mirza Teletovic who is a 76 rated player. I didn't bid because I could have sworn somebody was going to drop 20 gm points on him since he was a 76 rated player. KLEM basically got a 76 rated player for free. In case twin towers no lomger work, KLEM can switch it up with this new acquisition.

The Heat are the biggest underdogs in the league. This team consist of all the players that nobody wanted; either because of horrible contract or low rating. Breece is finding value in each of these players and winning games with pure team ball. The Heat started off real hot, but after losing to two of the two best teams in week 5 and a very bad start in week 6, the Heat may look like they are falling into a slump. This is purely bad luck as only a select few teams had access to the new slider settings. The rest of us had to go into week 6 blindfolded. Breece was the unlucky one as his previous scheme didn't fare well under the new settings. I believe Breece will get the Heat back on track again in week 7.

Dallas has been abusing the hell out of Zubac, another glitch type player like Boban and Len. He's not ready to be a starter in the NBA, but is performing like a stud in NLL. The Pistons have been underwhelming. I think it is because they lack a star player. Simmons and Oladipo should be those guys, but they still had old tendencies. With the latest tendency update, they are both looking like their NBA selves. And I'm sure Laddas is just now seeing how much better they look. At the same time, Parker returned and Sheed is trying to find his role in the offense since Monk was looking really good as the starting point guard. This team is loaded with talent. Just like Memphis, the team is run by a bunch of little kids like Booker, Gordon, and DSJ. Unlike Memphis though is this team isn't close to figuring it out. Most is to blame on injuries. And a lot has to do with undeveloped talent. Aaron Gordon has been a high rated player with bad tendencies. The recent tendency update has finally fixed him and he is able to put up 40 point games now. Josh Jackson and OG Anunoby have been getting better. Capela and DSJ have been solid. Players are starting to come back except DeAngelo. The recent Gordon tendency update is the biggest relevation for Andrew to start figuring how to win games again. The biggest nuisance has been Rodney Hood's inconsistency with staying on the court. I'm kind of worried about this guy. He'll get the shits right at the beginning of the game, and the coach will have to write him off because he can't leave the bathroom. Something is wrong with his digestive tract and it is making his body weaker. He might have Crohn's disease like Omer Asik and Larry Nance Jr. And there is no cure for this yet.

This team started the season red hot. But then Miles Plumlee came back and pushed Dakari Johnson out of the lineup. Since then, the Pelicans have been losing games. And they traded Corey Joseph and TJ Leaf for Ben McLemore and Caleb Swanigan. Now I think Pelicans are starting to win games again, and surprisingly Dakari is getting minutes. Reggie Jackson and Alex Len are the leaders of the team. "They Call Him Len" was the biggest glitch player out there. He's still good under the new slider settings. Just not 40 point game good.

Barnes is what made this team so good last year. But this year Barnes is looking a little more like his normal self, and players around him will need to step up to win games. Batum has been disappointing so far since his return from injury. Mailo tried to change things up by trading for Andre Iguodala, but managed to get fleeced a 1st rounder in the deal. I think the Warriors have talent to win games, but they need to get more out of Batum.

You got defenders who can't shoot. You have shooters who can't defend. You got high motor guys who can't score. There are a lot of holes with this team. Buddy Hield is the team's best prospect, but his upside is that of a 6th man. You got to like the progression of Dillon Brooks and Frank Mason III. And you're hoping for more from Bender. But this is a team not ready to win games yet.
