ROOKIE OF THE WEEK WATCH - Week 2

PLAYERTEAMWHYWHY NOTSTATS

Buddy Hield

PER 24.68

MVP

-
Hield was promoted to the starting unit this week and responded by getting buckets.....21.5 Points a game with more than half of those points coming from the 3pt line at a staggering 50% clip on 7.5 attempts per game!  Buddy is starting to show the benefits of working with Steph everyday.
Best Game - 27 Points 2 Boards 5 Assists 1 Block on 8/19 shooting Vs Cleveland
Not a lot to fault Buddy on this week.  Perhaps his 1 Steal in 134 Minutes is a little light for a perimeter player but that's some serious nitpicking.
Worst Game - 23 Points 3 Assists on 9/17 shooting @ Washington

Jamal Murray

PER 20.85

MVP

-
He has filled in admirably as a starter for the Hornet's, helping them to a better than expected record at this early point.  10 Points, 5 Boards, an assists and steal when the team clearly plays around their 7 footers, he picks is moments without overplaying his hand.
Best Game - 12 Points, 5 Boards, 2 Assists, 2 Steals on 5/10 Shooting Vs New York
All of his numbers took a decline in Week 2, including his shooting %'s.  His +/- was horrendous at -11.8
Worst Game - 7 points, 5 Boards, 2 Steals on 2/8 shooting Vs New York

Jake Layman

PER 7.24

MVP

-
Hmm, he plays for a Portland team that needs something to cheer for at the moment?
Layman shot really well from the field, 13/20 overall and 4/7 from deep.
Best Game - 12 Points 3 Boards 3 Assists on 5/7 shooting
Portland already has Jaylen Brown who'll win a stack of these awards this season so they probably won't earn a sympathy vote for Layman.
Worst Game - 3 Points 4 Boards 1 Steal 1 Block on 1/3 shooting
