NLL Insider - Team by Team: Sacramento Kingsby sheed36, updated on Tuesday, October 27 2015, 03:50 pm EST SEASON HIGHLIGHTS Mike Conley, Klay Thompson and Kevin Love lead the team to the second best record in the West. They finished the regular season with a seven winning streak. The Playoffs first round they swept Pelicans quickly but lost their power forward Kevin Love. In conference finals the Kings had Jazz on their way and even without Kevin they played with bravery. Kings made the conference finals for the fourth time in 5 years just is another prove everybody needed the Kings still are the best in the West in last past years. SEASON LOWLIGHTS For every second place we have a first place. And for Kings unlucky Los Angelis Lakers were waiting for them in the conference finals. To get the things even worse Kevin Love went down in the first round with a dislocated shoulder. The high tempo Lakers was too much fot he Kings and even gm CarlSpackler left his job early in this season BEST TRADE Carl wasn’t quite active when you say about trades. But this one early in the season sending away the injured Paul George to live up the season, without losing absolutely nothing
WORST TRADE All trade Carl made last season was pretty solid and we don’t have any worst trade. Sometimes the best move is don’t move. OTHER SOLID TRADES Carl made another great move last season acquiring a nice prospect in Jordan Clarkson and center Robin Lopez for the veteran going to retire Marion, Farmar and Koufos.
BEST FA SIGNING Arron Brooks- Signed off season Brooks played very well off the bench. With 9 points per game and 3 assists this season he also covered 3 weeks Mike Conley with 20 points per game, WOW. Probably he is staying another with the Kings. WORST FA SIGNING Jerryd Bayless- Only 6 points per game even off the bench wasn’t what gm Carl was expecting when he signed Bayless. He has one more year in his 3 millions contract to stay in Sacramento STAR Klay Thompson – Klay beat Mike Conley this year because of his shooting percentage. Coming from losing Minnesota team to shine as a new superstar. He will re-sign with Kings and probably deserve a big cash this offseason. SURPRISE Nothing really surprising. King kept their majesty even without their big superstar Chris Paul and Paul George. GOAT Kevin Love – Kevin had a big skid in his points per game this year not living last good season. From 16 points per game in 2013-14 Love lost his mojo delivering only 13. In off season he dislocated his shoulder in first round and lost the rest of the entire playoffs DRAFT REPORT CARD A lot of second rounders. Kings finished the season with a bunch of second rounds. For some reason gm Carl collected this pick during the season. Being a contender Kings have no reason to acquire so many seconds. In the end none of these guys will make the league
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE New gm Klemmelo have the easier job ever. Kings just need to keep their talent and don’t rush in any trade talks. His only job now is to find a way to beat Lakers and the new menace Utah Jazz. UPCOMING FREE AGENTS Kevin Love, Klay Thompson, Drew Gooden – 100% chances to stay in Sacramento Aaron Brooks – Still undecided but Kings gm would do better if he spend some points on him Robin Lopez, Wesley Johnson – Probably 20-30% of chances to stay if not Kings will miss these guys. |
