NLL Insider - Will there be a Game 7?

by spudspace, updated on Friday, June 09 2017, 02:21 pm EST

Once more, the home court advantage is at work here.  The Knicks won handily by 14 points today defending their court.  Luc Mbah a Moute was moved into the starting lineup, and he had 11 points on a perfect game 4-4.  Harden had a double-double with 16 assists.

Anthony Davis had a down game after a 40-point game in game 4.  He went for only 19 points and was the worst on the team with a -20.  Sad when your best player has the worst +/- on the team.  Joel Embiid had an awesome game scoring 32 points on an efficient 11-22.  The benches weren’t a factor as both seemed to do well.  Beverley did a good job on Harden, forcing him to shoot 6-15, but Harden found ways to contribute with his dimes.

Ingles got benched for Mbah a Moute, and it was likely because Harkless took him to town last game.  He did well off the bench scoring 10 points.  He’s a great weapon off the bench, and gives the point guards a great place to get dimes.  The game was close at halftime, but the Knicks pulled away in the 2nd half, the Spurs never getting very close.

The Knicks now have a chance to close out the series in Texas.  Based on previous performances though, they likely won’t win game 6 though.  Will Leeroy make some changes to the starting lineup, or will he trust that Davis won’t play that poorly again.  On the same hand, you can’t expect 32 out of Embiid most games.  Getting 50-60 out of the starting frontcourt is about what you’d expect from these two, so the other guys gotta pick it up.  Beverley needs to play better to warrant his time on the court, can’t shoot 2-10 again and hope to win.

My bet here, Spurs win game 6, it comes back to New York for a game 7 of the ages!  Good luck guys!
